The side rails are each about 1" long and can be mounted on various positions along the sides

Installation is usually quick and easy but as with any other AK series rifle, some minor fitting may be required to achieve a good custom fit. Fitting operations are done exclusively to the mount and Not to your rifle. Typical fitting procedures can can be achieved with just a small file. The included trirail mount is a complete replacement for your rifles existing dust cover. This mount has set screws on the back which is useful on rifles that have loose tolerances as it helps to to prevent side to side movement that would through off your scopes zero. Installation instruction are included.    

    - This item is NOT a drop-in installation !
    - Filing and fitting will be requires on the dust cover mount to achieve a nice tight custom fit
    - This item was designed specifically to fit AK pattern rifles with true Mil-Spec dimensions
